Shared short codes offer a low cost SMS product that provides you with automatically activated short codes. If you are expecting low to medium message volumes, then a shared short code is for you. On a shared short code you share the number with other customers and control your traffic by using unique keywords.

While shared short codes are the cheapest and quickest way for you to setup your SMS product, it must be remebered that as the code is shared there is always the risk of the code being suspended because of another customers actions. We do perform pre-sales checks on all clients but we cannot guarentee that a there will never be a loss of service. If you require absolute reliability it is recommended that you use a dedicated code.

With a shared code, you share the short code with a chosen tariff. If you choose ‘CHAT’, for instance, as your keyword, all messages sent to the code that start with ‘CHAT’ are sent to your application or service.

We recommend getting a dedicated short code if you wish to offer a unique, customised and easy to remember number;a wide array of services; expect a high volume of messages; or want to offer more complex two-way services.

We will help you set up your own dedicated short code and a billing account with the Mobile Network Operators with fast application and implementation.

Once the short code is set up at a tarrif of your choosing it is yours and you will own it. Messages sent to the code are forwarded to you and are charged to the user when they are successfully delivered to the handset or on the user sending depending on the billing method.
